Probable cause

On June 24, 2026, about 1410 PDT, a Cessna 172N, N7342G, was substantially damaged during a landing at Livermore Municipal Airport (KLVK). The flight instructor and student pilot were not injured. The instructional flight operated under 14 CFR Part 91. The instructor reported that during a series of touch-and-go landings the aircraft settled onto the runway before the gear was confirmed down and locked. The investigation is continuing.
